Lewiston Government Meetings- Week of June 14th

This week, the School Committee, the Finance Committee, and the City Council will each meet. Here’s what to expect.

 

Lewiston School Committee Meeting
Monday, June 15th at 5:30 pm
The Green Ladle, 156 East Avenue

Important topics include:

  • A discussion and potential vote on School Committee goals
  • Field trip requests for the Boys’ Basketball team and the Outdoor Track team
  • A first read of policies relating to student attendance, and family/medical leave
  • A second read of policies relating to student cell phone use, temperature standards for schools, and use of credit cards

Lewiston Finance Committee Meeting

Lewiston City Council Workshop and Meeting
Tuesday, June 16th at 6:00 pm
Council Chambers, City Hall, 27 Pine Street

Important topics include:

  • Mobile Home Park Lot Rent Stabilization Workshop
  • Update regarding the Flock License Plate Reader cameras
  • Adding two new locations to the list of city-owned recreational facilities
  • Authorizing the acceptance of the Public Art Committee’s recommendation for public art projects for the FY27 annual budget allocation of $58,000
  • Authorizing the expenditure of up to $29,900 from the New England Clean Energy Connect (NECEC) Tax Increment Financing District for the (ILY) Gardens
  • Approving a 60-month lease agreement to utilize 43 parking spaces in the Oak Street Parking Facility with the United States Postal Service
  • Acceptance of a donation from the Lahey Foundation in the amount of $149,450.00 in labor and materials towards the renovation of the Lewiston Athletic Park
  • Appointment of a City Councilor to serve on the Public Safety Committee
  • Update from the Lewiston Housing Authority
