Beaudoin and Harriman to Face Off in Special House Election

Featured, Politics

LEWISTON- Janet Beaudoin and Scott Harriman will compete for the vacant State House District 94 seat next month.

Both are current members of the Lewiston School Committee. Beaudoin has represented Ward 2 since June of 2021, and Harriman has served as the City Council representative since January of 2024. Harriman has been a City Councilor since 2022.

The District 94 seat was previously held by Kristen Cloutier, who resigned to take a position as Chief of Staff for Maine Senate President Mattie Daughtry.

Last November, the City Council had the choice between holding a special election to fill the seat, or letting it remain vacant until the next regular election scheduled for this upcoming November. The Council opted for the special election.

Beaudoin won the Republican nomination during a caucus last month. She was unopposed.

Scott Harriman

Harriman defeated former School Committee member Kiernan Majerus-Collins for the Democratic nomination at a caucus also held in December.

Harriman and Majerus-Collins have both announced plans to run for the seat during the November election, and will face off during a primary in June.

The special election will be held at Longley School, 145 Birch Street, on Tuesday, February 24th.
