This week, the Lewiston School Committee, Lewiston City Council, and Androscoggin County Commission will each hold meetings to discuss a variety of topics. Here’s what to expect.
Lewiston School Committee Meeting
Monday, December 15th at 5:30 pm

The School Committee will meet Monday night for their last meeting of the term, which ends January 5th.
Items to be discussed include an LRTC field trip request to Fenway Park in Boston, a discussion on an upcoming School Committee retreat for new and returning members, and a review of four policies (patriotic exercise, flag displays, student dress, reporting of student progress).
Next will be reports, updates and announcements from members, then future agenda items that members would like to see.
Last will be three executive sessions to hold a student disciplinary hearing and to discuss two personnel matters.

Lewiston City Council Workshop and Meeting
Tuesday, December 16th at 5:00 pm (Meeting starts at 7:00pm)

The City Council will meet Tuesday night for their last meeting during this term, which ends January 5th.
They will be starting at 5:00 for an organizational meeting for the incoming 2026-2028 City Council. Five members are returning, and two members will be new.
At 6:00 are four executive sessions. Two are related to economic development issues, and the others are related to real estate negotiations.
The regular meeting will start at 7:00 with a recognition of outgoing Councilors and a recognition of the Ad Hoc Committee to Establish a Homeless Shelter.
Then will be a public comment period and the City Administrator’s Report.
Items that Councilors will discuss include an amendment to the Lowell Street Omnibus Tax Increment Financing District, a condemnation hearing for the building at 102 Pierce Street, a request to review the qualifications of a Councilor-elect, approval of the creation of a data center in Bates Mill 3, a 6-month extension for a purchase agreement with The Lewiston-Auburn Community Market, and an update on the Martel School property project.
Lastly will be reports, updates, and any other business Councilors or staff may have.

Androscoggin County Commission Meeting
Wednesday, December 17th at 5:30 pm (Meeting starts at 7:00pm)
