Lewiston City Council Workshop and Meeting

Important topics include:
- A workshop to discuss changes to the Rental Registration Program to add other types of rental properties
- To receive the City Clerk’s report regarding a successful petition to amend the Syringe Service Program ordinance, and to decide whether to approve the amendment or to send it to voters this November
- A public hearing on a proposed increase in water rates
- Approving a Letter of Intent with Eco Hospitality Consultants regarding the Hampton Inn and activity at Simard-Payne Park
- A public hearing and first passage to establish the Residential Rental Properties ordinance and moving the Rental Registration section into this new ordinance
- A public hearing and first passage for an amendment for changes to the No Name Pond Conservation Overlay District to require soil disturbance within buffers to follow Maine DEP requirements
- Approving a TIF for the Martel School Apartments Phase III
- A discussion (and possible action) regarding requiring event permits for social service programming on city property and parks
