This week, the Lewiston School Committee and Lewiston City Council will each hold meetings to discuss a variety of topics. Here’s what to expect.
Lewiston School Committee Meeting
Monday, December 1st at 5:30 pm

The School Committee will meet Monday night with a very short agenda.
The meeting will start with public input. Public comments have been quite spirited, lately.
After that, the first vote will be on a field trip request for an out of state trip to Rhode Island.
Next will be reports and updates from members, then future agenda items members would like to see.
Last will be an executive session to hold a student disciplinary hearing, with a possible vote on that hearing.

Lewiston City Council Workshop and Meeting
Tuesday, December 2nd at 6:00 pm (Meeting starts at 7:00pm)

The City Council will meet Tuesday night, starting at 6:00 for two executive sessions. One is related to an economic development issue, and the other is related to a real estate negotiation.
The regular meeting will start at 7:00 with the Public Comment period and the City Administrator’s Report.
Councilors will then discuss a variety of topics. Notable items are an update from the Lewiston Housing Authority regarding their senior housing project on the old Martel School grounds, transferring unspent funds to the Lewiston Auburn 9-1-1- Communication Center, and discussions regarding creating standing committees related to public safety and economic development.
Next will be reports, updates, and any other business Councilors or staff may have. Lastly, the Council will go into three executive sessions to discuss real estate negotiations and the firefighters’ contract.
